How much does an SOP audit cost for a small business?

The cost of an SOP audit depends mostly on how many processes are in scope. Covenix's introductory pricing starts at $750 for one process and $1,200 for up to five.

What changes the price of an SOP audit

  • How many processes are in scope. One process is a focused teardown. Five is a real map of how the work gets done.
  • How well the work is documented today. Knowledge that lives in people's heads takes interviews. Existing SOPs take comparison against what actually happens.
  • How many systems and handoffs the work touches. More tools and more people mean more places for a step to break.
  • What you want at the end. Findings only, or a rebuilt SOP and an AI workflow that runs it.

Covenix introductory pricing

OfferPriceWhat you get
Focused audit$750One process. Written findings and a fix list. About one week.
Full SOP audit$1,200Up to five core processes. Written action plan. One to two weeks.
Rebuild and deploy one AI workflowFrom $2,500Corrected SOP, one AI agent or automation, testing, handoff, and 30 days of support. The audit fee is credited if you continue after an audit.

Most single workflows land between $2,500 and $4,000. The price goes up with the number of systems connected, the number of people and handoffs involved, how much has to be written from scratch, and whether regulated information is involved.

Why the pricing is introductory

Covenix is a new firm, and these prices are introductory for that reason. Every engagement is fixed-scope, and the price and deliverables are in writing before we start.

If the audit finds nothing worth fixing, you do not pay

If an audit does not turn up at least one fix we would recommend making, you do not pay the audit fee, or it is refunded if you have already paid. This applies to the focused audit and the full audit. It does not cover a rebuild, which is quoted separately after the audit.

What one process looks like in your report

Your report includes a visual map of how the process runs today, where it breaks, and the rebuilt version with an owner for each step and a person approving before anything reaches a customer. Here is an illustrative example.

Illustrative process diagram of a customer quote request, two rows. Today: the request lands in three places with no single owner, depends on whoever notices it, is re-typed into a quote sheet, waits in three email approvals, and goes out days later if at all. Rebuilt: one intake form, an AI agent collects missing details and drafts the quote from written price rules, a named person approves, and the quote is sent and logged the same day.

Every engagement is fixed-scope. You see the price and the deliverables before we start, and a written quote holds for 30 days. There are no retainers. When we are done, the corrected SOP, the documentation and admin access to everything we set up are yours.

What an SOP audit is not

It is not a software purchase and it is not a commitment to automate anything. The audit tells you where your process breaks and what it costs you. Whether to fix it with your own team or with ours is your decision. If your processes are already sound, we will say so.

What else to budget for

If we deploy AI into your workflow, the software you already use and any AI usage fees are billed by those vendors, not by us. We estimate those costs up front. If your process changes later, a tune-up is quoted as a fixed job when you ask. It is never a retainer.

Yes. If you move from an audit to a rebuild and AI deployment, the audit fee is credited toward it.

No retainers. Engagements are fixed-scope with a known price and deliverables before work begins. Software and AI usage fees for tools you use are billed separately by those vendors, and we estimate them up front.

No. Scope sets the price: how many processes, how many systems, and what you want delivered. One exception: if your work involves regulated information, such as patient health records, payment card numbers, or Social Security or financial account numbers, tell us on the call. We will go over where that information sits in your processes and what it means for how the work is scoped, before any price is confirmed.

A focused audit takes about a week. A full audit of up to five processes usually takes one to two weeks, depending on how much of the work is written down.

Most single workflows land between $2,500 and $4,000. The price goes up with the number of systems connected, the number of people and handoffs involved, how much has to be written from scratch, and whether regulated information is involved.

For 30 days after handoff we fix problems with what we built and make small adjustments to it at no charge, and we reply within one business day. New workflows, new systems, or changes to the process itself are quoted separately.

The corrected written SOP, the documentation of how the workflow runs, and admin access to the accounts and automations we set up, which are created in your name. Subscriptions and usage fees for the tools themselves stay with those vendors.

For engagements booked through December 31, 2026. A written quote holds for 30 days.

The call takes 30 minutes. You describe the process that causes the most rework. We ask what happens when it goes wrong, who touches it, and which tools it passes through. Then we tell you where we would look first and whether an audit is worth it, or that you do not need us. The call is a conversation. The audit is the written work: the map, the numbered breaks and the fix list. There is no obligation.
